Beginner's Wheel Throwing Class
Participants will be taught how to wedge clay, center on the pottery wheel and learn basic wheel throwing. Each participant will spend time on the wheel with hands on instruction. Hand Building Ceramic Classes
Hand built ceramic classes offer a wide arrangement of techniques. Classes include slab construction, coil method, drape mold construction, tile slab, amongst others. Each class we’ll be focusing on a different technique. Ceramics can’t be rushed! Unlike our bisque items ready for glazing, handmade items need to be air dried slowly in a climate controlled environment, otherwise they'll crack. We let them sit in proper shelving to air dry for a few weeks to ensure this. Items require 2-3 weeks to fully air dry before bisque firing. Cracks are possible depending on how the piece is built. Glazing will be done independently during Open Studio. Pieces ready for pick up 1-2 weeks after glazing. All ceramic classes provide the following:
